Oklahoma Department of Libraries From Carnegie to computers, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries has worked to expand the knowledge and enrich the lives of the people of this state. Libraries were a matter of concern to the very first Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Oklahoma, which convened in 1890. One of this body's first acts was to pass legislation creating a Territorial Library, to provide legislators with reference services and to house federal publications.

K/T Boundary |
|
Description: |
|
Whether a meteor alone caused the extinction of dinosaurs is subject to considerable debate. But field research clearly shows that a major meteor impact does coincide with the boundary of the Cretaceous and Tertiary periods, called the K/T boundary, when many forms of life on earth became extinct.
Karen shows this impact and the dramatic effect it would have had on the Earth and its atmosphere. |
