    Karen's Images by Geologic Age

Some of Karen's images are specific to a particular geologic age, like the Pleistocene. More commonly, her images are specific to an epoch—the Eocene, for example—or a geologic period, like the Tertiary. Finally, a few are identified only to the level of geologic eras, like the Cenozoic.

Here's a portion of Jeff Poling's excellent matrix of eras and ages from http://www.dinosauria.com. From it, you can see that a geologic age provides the most specific indication of time, while eras are the least specific:

Era

Period

Sub-period

Epoch

Age

Cenozoic

Quaternary

Holocene

Pleistocene

Tertiary

Neogene

Pliocene

Piacenzian

Zanclian

Miocene

Messinian

Rupelian

Note: In the chronological listing of Karen's work below, images identified by era alone may include animals from more than one age, epoch or period.
