"Lone Star Dinosaurs" was Karen's first opportunity to represent ancient life. The book's author, Dr. Louis Jacobs of Southern Methodist University and the Institute for the Study of Earth and Man, provided invaluable assistance in the creation of the images. Karen and Dr. Jacobs continue to collaborate on images and projects (and Louis appears as a model in a few of Karen's images of early North American human communities).
