The Jurassic mural at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is more than 2 stories tall, and is composed of more than 60 individual printed panels showing Karen's painted image. Standing two stories tall and more than than 60 feet in length, the mural features a clash between Jurassic dinosaurs Apatosaurus and Saurophaganax (a carnivorous dinosaur similar to Allosaurus). Other animals depicted include Stegosaurus, Camptosaurus, Archaeopteryx and an early possum-like mammal.
Installation of this giant mural, and of the others at the Sam Noble, required a specially trained crew and a small fleet of high-rise construction equipment. Learn how Karen painted this amazing series by clicking on the "How I Paint" hyperlink. |
